Our Future..."Think About Such Things"

With all the doom and gloom talk about the economy and state of our country, it is easy to fall into concern or even fear our future. My advice....turn off the television and invest in a good book. While we do not need to be in denial about the things going on around us, it is very important for us to focus on a good report.

Paul encouraged us in Philippians 4:4-9, 11-13 (NIV) to focus on the good:

" Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. And the God of peace will be with you.

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. I can do everything through him (Christ) who gives me strength."

Do you desire to have peace in your life? Then think about such things. God remains in control of your life and is your provision as long as you give Him permission to do so. Let your requests be known to Him today and then rest in His peace.
